Joy Rugg Woods of Bradenton, Florida was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior on October 8, 2015.
Joy was born on September 2, 1933 on the Isle of Wight, England. Joy and her husband, John, served the Lord for many years in Rescue Mission work in West Virginia, South Carolina, Ohio and Washington, D.C. After their retirement, they were privileged to spend time volunteering at the Garden Tomb in Israel.
Joy leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 62 years, John Woods, a son, Byron Woods and his wife, Lisa of Forest, Virginia, and a daughter, Sharon Shreve of Covington, Virginia. In addition, she will be greatly missed by 5 grandchildren, Jeremy Woods, Cory Woods, Scott Woods, Seth Shreve and Haley Jones; two great‐grandchildren, Edmund and Parker Woods; two sisters, Lorette (Neville) Gritt and Fay Richards (John Ball); and many other dear friends and family.
A Memorial Service to celebrate her life and her homecoming in Heaven will be held 11:00am Monday, October 12 in the chapel at Bradenton First Baptist Church, 1306 Manatee Avenue.
