The only frozen product is the Colossal Tiger Shrimp from Hawaii, a rare delicacy, harvested in an ocean farm and flown to Bradenton.
The establishment not only serves as an eat-in cafŽ & marketplace, but also prepares take-out meals.
”Ocean Harvest Market fills a niche in the West Bradenton market,“ said owner Mike Guccinone.
"Mark (the chef) will help customers with recipes or suggestions on how to prepare and serve their selection. While planning dinner, they can have lunch here as well.“
Guccione, who is now retired from Wal-Mart and once ran an eyeglasses retail shop, is also a sport fishing enthusiast. He teamed up with friend Captain Ron Gauthier, to open the Ocean Harvest Market.

The two hired executive chef Mark Baker, who was trained in Japan and Hawaii. Baker was one to the original chef’s with Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion in Honolulu and also opened their Tampa location.
”Ron, Mark, and I each offer a specialized area of expertise,"said Guccione. "Ron, a charter captain, knows more about local fishing than anyone I know. Mark is excellent and his food is outstanding, while I bring not only business acumen and a retail background, but also a love for cooking. We want our customers to enjoy their experiences at Ocean Harvest Market. We each go out of our way to make sure they do."
The Open Harvest Market is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
