As a dedicated Supervisor at General Motors, she excelled in her career, showcasing resilience and leadership. Retiring at age 54 and before that having a business of 16 years. Her journey as a single parent, raising two daughters, is a testament to her unwavering love and commitment to family.
Patty Ann Swann, 80, passed on December 5, 2023. Born November 26, 1943, in Huntingburg, IN. She and her husband moved to Cortez, FL in 1997 from Indianapolis, IN, as snowbirds then permanently in 2016. She was a member of St. Peter & Paul Apostles Catholic Church.
Her professional accomplishments were only surpassed by her genuine and caring nature. Patty Swann never met a stranger, offering help to anyone in need. Quick-witted and possessed of a delightful sense of humor, she brightened the lives of those around her.
Her impact went beyond professional success, as she served others with a selfless spirit. Patty Swann embodied love and compassion, always ready to extend a helping hand. Her dedication to family, especially her daughters, and grandsons was evident in every aspect of her life.
Today, we remember Patty Swann not only for her professional achievements but for the love, humor, and generosity that touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.
May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration for us all.
Patty is predeceased by her husband, Doyle Swann, of 34 years who was the love of her life. Her parents, Benjamin Matthew Kunker and Emma Lou Sullivan; sisters, Janice Shaw, Sharon Hale, Lorraine Fulmer and Bonnie Criswell; grandchild, James P. Glidewell Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Jessica (Rob) Payson of McCordsville, IN, and Sherry (Jim) Glidewell of Albany, KY; brother, Benjamin Kunkler of Indianapolis, IN; step-daughter, Susan (Ken) Perdue of Carmel, IN; stepsons, Brian Swann and Tommy Swann of Whiteland, IN; two grandsons, Joseph (Stephanie) Glidewell, Grant Payson and three great-granddaughters.
A Celebration of life will be 4-6 PM, Friday December 29th, 2023, at the Cortez Club House 12507 Cortez Rd W Cortez, Bradenton, FL. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes and Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL 34209, is in charge of arrangements.
