PODCAST: Interview with Singer and Artist Kitt Moran

LAKEWOOD RANCH--Kitt Moran definitely fits the description of a Renaissance woman. Not only is she one of the best jazz singers in the business, she is also a writer and a painter who’s work is currently being shown at the ComCenter in Lakewood Ranch.

Kitt, along with her husband of more than thirty years, Mike Moran, have been performing their cabaret jazz act at the top hotels and venues in New York City, Atlantic City and on cruise ships around the world. While her keyboardist husband has written many of their songs and arrangements, Kitt has sung with the likes of Rosemary Clooney and Merv Griffin. Kitt and Mike were mainstays at Merv’s Resorts International Hotel and Casino for many years before she and Mike moved to North Port six years ago.

Kitt and Mike play several different night spots around Bradenton and Sarasota keeping the kind of music they love, the standards of jazz and American Popular music alive.

A few years ago, Kitt Moran added painter to her list of talents and has since won several awards for her work. Recently, she opened a show of her paintings at the ComCenter in Lakewood Ranch. In my interview with Kitt posted below, she talks about her artwork and "Chick Soup", the musical she co-wrote, which will be performed early next year in North Port.
