JUPITER — The Marauders (9-3, 41-41) took sole possession of first place on Monday night by blanking Jupiter (4-8, 39-43) 3-0 at Roger Dean Stadium. RHP Frank Duncan (W, 5-4) faced one over the minimum while limiting Jupiter to two hits over seven innings and striking out five.

The Marauders opened the scoring in the third on an RBI-triple from SS JaCoby Jones off Jarlin Garcia (L, 2-5). Shortly after a 24 minute lightning delay in the sixth, 2B Erich Weiss struck for a two-run homer to cap the scoring.

RHP Isaac Sanchez pitched a scoreless eighth inning. RHP Junior Lopez tossed a perfect ninth with two strikeouts to earn his first save. RF Harold Ramirez went 3-for-4 with a double.

The game began at 6:37 p.m. under overcast skies, 85 degrees, and wind blowing 4 mph in from right. The shutout was Bradenton’s sixth whitewash win of the season.

The Marauders have matched their longest winning streak of the season at five games; both of Bradenton’s five game winning streaks have featured three wins over Jupiter and two wins over Charlotte. The Marauders have swept Jupiter twice at Roger Dean Stadium and been swept by the Hammerheads at home.
