TAMPA — The Marauders (22-12, 54-50) swept the Tampa Yankees (16-19, 50-55) in a doubleheader at Steinbrenner Field.
Bradenton never trailed on Friday night while taking the first game 5-4 and winning the second game 5-3.
CF Austin Meadows opened the scoring with a two-run home run in the first inning of game one then had a multi-hit game in the second game.
RF Harold Ramirez drove in three runs across two games and swiped two bases to raise his season total to 18.
The doubleheader began at 5:01 p.m. under overcast skies, 81 degrees, and wind blowing 12 mph right to left.
The doubleheader ended at 11:30 p.m. The first game featured an 86 minute rain delay. Felipe Gonzalez began his professional career in the Yankees organization. The Marauders have closed to within a single game of first place behind Palm Beach.
The Marauders play the third game of the series with Tampa at 6:00 p.m. at Steinbrenner Field. LHP Cody Dickson will be on the mound for the Marauders while Tampa has RHP Rookie Davis slated to throw.
