BRADENTON — The Marauders (5-7) plated two late runs but could not come all the way back from a six-run deficit in a 6-2 loss to Charlotte (8-4) on Monday night. RHP Felipe Gonzalez (0-2) pitched five innings and allowed four hits in the loss.

C Jin-De Jhang and 3B Wyatt Mathisen collected two hits for the Marauders. RHP Isaac Sanchez and RHP Clario Perez combined to strike out seven batters over four innings in relief.
The game began at 7:03 p.m. after a 33 minute rain delay, under cloudy skies, 80 degrees, wind blowing 17 mph from right to left. The time of game was the longest played by the Marauders this year. The rain delay was the first at home for the Marauders this season.
Today, the Marauders take on the Charlotte Stone Crabs in game two of the series and game five of the home stand at 6:30 p.m. RHP Frank Duncan will make his third start for the Marauders while RHP Ryne Stanek will be on the hill for the Stone Crabs.
