PORT CHARLOTTE — The Marauders (10-11) never led in a 9-2 loss to the Mets (10-11) on Thursday night at McKechnie Field. St. Lucie first baseman Matt Oberste blasted a grand slam in the ninth to put the game.
LHP Cody Dickson (2-3) whiffed five over 5 1/3 innings in his fifth start of the year.
The game began at 6:32 p.m. under partly cloudy skies, 77 degrees, wind blowing 13 mph from left to right. Jin-De Jhang extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a base hit in his second at-bat. Reese McGuire has thrown out a runner in each of his last two games behind the plate.
