BRADENTON -- On Thursday, the Pittsburgh Pirates announced their 2013 Spring Training schedule and ticket pricing for games at McKechnie Field. The 33-game Florida schedule consists of 16 home games and will also feature an intrasquad “Black and Gold” game on Friday, February 22 and an exhibition game against Team Spain, who is participating in the World Baseball Classic, on Tuesday, March 5.
The Pirates are scheduled to open their 2013 Grapefruit League season against the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday, February 23 in Port Charlotte. The Pirates will then host the Braves the following day in their Spring Training Home Opener at McKechnie Field on Sunday, February 24 at 1:05 p.m.
In 2013, McKechnie Field will feature a variety of new amenities to enhance the experience of attending a game. A new boardwalk will allow fans to circle the entire ballpark for the first time. Among the new locations in the stadium are the Left Field Party Deck and the Boardwalk Barbeque Area for group picnics, the Outfield Bar in center field and the Left Field Bleachers.
The Fan Plaza inside the main gate has expanded and includes new concessions and restroom facilities. The number of shaded seating areas has increased all around the ballpark as well.

Pirates Spring Training Season Tickets, which go on sale Monday, December 3, remain one of the best values in the Grapefruit League. Season ticket pricing is as follows:

* Price includes tickets for every game played at McKechnie Field, including the “Black and Gold” game ticket and the game against Team Brazil. A portion of the proceeds from the “Black and Gold” intrasquad game will benefit the Manatee Education Foundation. Current season ticket holders will be receiving their renewal forms beginning the first week of December, and will have until Friday, January 18 to renew their same seats for the 2013 season.
Weekend Package
The Pirates will offer a five-game Weekend Package during Spring Training which will also go on sale Monday, December 3. The Weekend Package includes tickets to five games for the price of four at the season ticket holder price.

Group Tickets
Group ticket reservations can be made starting Monday, December 3. Groups of 15 or more can place reserve seating together in any section. All groups will receive a welcome announcement over the PA system during the game. Larger groups have the opportunity to select unique group experiences to make their trip to McKechnie Field even more memorable.
Bradenton Marauders/Pirates Spring Training season ticket holders will also have the opportunity to purchase season tickets for the 70-game home schedule of the Pirates Florida State League affiliate, the Bradenton Marauders, who are scheduled to begin their fourth season on Friday, April 5 against the Fort Myers Miracle at McKechnie Field. Season tickets for the Marauders are $300 for infield reserved seats and $245 for outfield reserved seats to all 70 home dates.
“Early Bird” Pre-Sale Opportunity
Prior to the individual ticket on-sale, fans will have the opportunity to take part in an online-only “Early Bird” pre-sale from January 23-25. The “Early Bird” pre-sale will give fans the opportunity to purchase single game tickets before they go on sale to the general public. “Early Bird” pricing is different than regular single game pricing and is an alternative purchase opportunity for fans who want to be guaranteed seats to high-demand games. Prior to the “Early Bird” pre-sale, a separate pre-sale will take place for Pirates’ season ticket holders from January 21-22 at regular individual game prices.
