Richard S. Slinko, 82, of Bradenton, FL passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023.
Born in Providence, RI, he moved to Florida in 1998.
He is pre-deceased by his parents, Blanche (Valaitis) Slinko, Stanley Slinko and his sister, Genevieve Slinko. He is survived by his loving wife, Claire (Jutras) Slinko,; his sister, Kathleen Caswell; brother, David Slinko; several nieces and nephews and his granddaughter, Amanda Daniels.
He served in the US Navy from 1959 to 1963 on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. He became a Providence, RI Firefighter in 1967 and retired in 1987. Richard was an avid golfer and loved sailing his boat on Narragansett Bay.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on April 26, 2023, at 10:30 A.M at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 3100 26th Street, Bradenton, FL 34205 followed by burial, with Military Honors at the Sarasota National Cemetery 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241 at 1:00 P.M. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West Bradenton, FL 34209 is in charge of the arrangements.
