Rosetta Marie Gilbert passed away on November 14, 2024 at home surrounded by family members. She was born on August 29, 1937 to the late Ella Louise Dowling. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherish able memories.
Rosetta gave her life to the Lord and became a member of The Greater Mount Pilgrim Primitive Baptist Church in 1959. She served on many ministries within the church such as: choir, ushers, and the culinary committee. She loved the Lord; she was a faithful servant. Rosetta found her greatest joy spending time with family and friends. She loved to fish.
Rosetta, better known as "Rosie" or "Ma", was the heart of the family and a beacon of love. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories of her smile, kindness, and forgiving heart. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Rosetta is preceded in death by her: Mother, Ella Louise Dowling, Daughter, Wana Regina Lee Gilbert, Two brothers, Nathaniel (Dino) Dowling, and Eddie Lloyd Wheeler, Niece, Kercia Lanette Lawrance and her best friend/sister, Eurilene Benton.
Rosetta leaves to cherish her memories, a devoted family: daughter, Belinda Farmer; Son, Vincent Gilbert: 2 sisters, Cynthia Robinson-Brown, and Mary Rivers; a sister-in-law: Diane Dowling: 5 grandchildren; Colbert Farmer, Sr. (Miya), Trenisha Perry, Desiree & Benjamin Gilbert, and Kayla Beachy; 8 great-grandchildren: Ellecia Bing, Terrelle & Colbert Farmer, Jr., O'Marius & Tre'Miryah Miller, Hazel, Charlie Rose, and Taitum; 5 nieces: Terrial Robinson, Gretchen & Von Dowling, Sundae Houston, and Ingram Monica McDuffie; 18 great nieces: Kaysi, Kiara & Tela Robinson, Elonia & Latarrika Dowling, Diana Martin, Christy Barton, Sundae Burston, Tierney Lewis, Carletta Perry, Carlenia Agtuilera, Carly Houston, Shanbrina, Latorria, Apples & Miracle Martin, Legaci and True Brockman; 4 nephews: Clayton Dowling, Sr., Nathaniel Martin, Duane Brockman, and Ederick; 6 great nephews: Christopher Barton, Clayton Dowling, Jr., Carlos Houston, Caleb Lawrence, Christian and Deontae Martin and a close friend/sister Patsy Troupe and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
