Bradenton, Florida - Samuel DeJesus Blanco, aged 60, passed away on October 17, 2024. Born on February 28, 1964, in Havana, Cuba, Samuel was the second of four children to Bernardo and Maria Blanco, of Bradenton, Florida. Samuel was an intelligent and caring individual who practiced as an immigration attorney in South Florida, known for his unwavering commitment to his family and friends, his dedication and reliability to his clients, and his great sense of humor.
Samuel and his family migrated to the United States in 1967, settling in Bradenton. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida and went on to receive his Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law in 1996. His career was marked by his conviction and advocacy for those in need. His pursuit of a Juris Doctor was inspired by his mother's professional career as an attorney in Cuba.
Outside of his professional life, Samuel enjoyed fishing, taking his motorcycle out for a long ride, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Samuel is preceded in his passing by his father, Bernardo Blanco, Sr., his older brother Bernardo Blanco, Jr., and his only sister, Magdalena Hood. He is survived by his beloved mother, Maria Blanco; his brother, Ricardo (Debra) Blanco; a niece; six nephews; four great-nephews; and countless friends and family members who will miss him dearly.
Samuel touched the lives of many and will be remembered for his kindness, ongoing humor, and generous spirit.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, located at 3930 17th Street, Sarasota, FL 34235, on November 2, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., with a reception to follow.
