SCF Manatees Season Ends With 79-76 Loss To St. Pete In Suncoast Tournament

ST. PETERSBURG--After defeating Hillsborough Community College on Monday night in the opening round of the Suncoast Conference Tournament, the SCF Manatees were one win away from advancing to the JUCO state basketball tournament. On Tuesday night, St. Petersburg Community College ended the Manatees season with a 79-76 victory over SCF.

Trailing by three with just ten seconds left in the game, Jonathan Miller, usually dead-on from behind the arc, missed a three pointer as time ran out. SCF finishes the season at 10-15. St. Petersburg advances to the state tournament next week.

Miller led the Manatees in scoring with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Markee Teal added 17 points with 9 boards. Palmetto’s Reggie Baity chipped in with 9 points.

Sophomores, Jonathan Miller, Josh Mason and Markee Teal played their final game with the Manatees and will look for opportunities in division 1 or 2 programs for next season.
