BRADENTON — One of this year's annual teacher institutes by the Library of Congress will include Bayshore High School teacher Lisa Fehling, the LOC announced Thursday.
Fehling was chosen from a list of more than 300 national K-12 applying educators for the five-day Primary Sources Summer Teacher Institute program. PSSTI will give participants the opportunity to LOC education specialists on how to improve usage of primary sources in teaching.
Primary sources are historical documents and objects that can help increase student engagement and learning during classroom sessions, while also helping the development of students' critical thinking skills. As the world's largest library, LOC also has the largest online collection of such artifacts.
Free information for the benefit of educators by the LOC can be viewed at www.loc.gov/teachers.
