Schools and Education SCF Offering Special Price on Motorcycle Safety Classes

BRADENTON — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) is offering its Basic Motorcycle Rider 1 class for a special price for the midweek sessions in July and August.
 
The Basic Rider 1 course teaches riding and street skills, covering safety operations, maneuvering skills and safe street-riding strategies. The special price is $175 for the 16-hour class that will meet 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, July 15-16 and Aug. 12-13.
 
The Basic Rider 1 class will also be offered on the weekends for the regular price of $199. Weekend classes meet at night, 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., Fridays and Saturdays, July 10-11, July 24-25, Aug. 7-8 and Aug. 21-22.
 
Motorcycles and helmets are provided for this course, which will be taught at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th Street West.
 
Classes are taught by nationally certified Motorcycle Safety Foundation rider coaches in state-of-the-art facilities for the classroom part of the course and on smooth parking lot surfaces for the riding portion.
 
Upon successful completion of the Basic Rider class, students may go to the Division of Motor Vehicles or Tax Collector’s Office to obtain a motorcycle license, which is required by Florida law for motorcycle riders.
