Schools and Education Spotlight on Education: Three Teams from School District Qualify for Odyssey of the Mind World Finals

BRADENTON — Two teams from Rowlett Academy and one team from Southeast High School will represent their respective schools and district in the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals next month. The teams advance after qualifying in the state finals held on April 11 at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

13 teams from the Manatee School District qualified for UCF's Florida competition; among the teams making appearances were Johnson Middle School, Manatee School for the Arts, and the State College of Florida Collegiate School.

The Odyssey of the Mind World Finals is an annual competition in which 800 more than 800 international teams compete. The competition, which is also accompanied by an array of coaches and teachers, involves creative problem-solving and teamwork. The 2015 finals will be held at Michigan State University, on May 20-23.
