Sergio Pereyra, Jr.

Posted

Sergio R. Pereyra Jr., age 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and generosity.

Born on March 22, 1947, in Florida, Uruguay to Maria Isabel (Barreto) Pereyra and Sergio Remigio Pereyra Sr., Sergio carried his roots with pride and heart.

After immigrating to the United States, Sergio found not only a new home but also the love of his life, Theresa (Sprinitis). They married in December of 1970 and shared 54 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they raised four children-Michael, Jennifer, Sergio, and Jonathan-with devotion, laughter, and more than a few dad jokes along the way.

Sergio spent his career as a truck driver, a job he embraced with a strong work ethic and a sense of responsibility that defined who he was. He was a man who took great pride in doing things right and working hard-traits he passed on to his children and grandchildren. Known for his quick wit, big laugh, and an even bigger heart, Sergio had a gift for making people feel welcome. He could always be counted on to crack a joke, lend a hand, or give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. His love for animals was just as strong as his love for people, especially for his loyal dog, Bella.

Sergio was predeceased by his parents, his sister Marisa Isabel, and two of his beloved sons, Jonathan and Michael. Though his absence leaves a deep void, his memory lives on in the stories, smiles, and strength of those he leaves behind.

He is survived by his wife Theresa; his children, Jennifer and Sergio; his daughter-in-law, Stacey; and his grandchildren, Madisyn, Madison, and McKenzie-all of whom carry his humor, his kindness, and his unshakable love with them.

Sergio's life was filled with hard work, laughter, and deep love-and he wouldn't have had it any other way.

Cremation was handled by Brown and Sons Funeral Homes, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL 34209. A private graveside service will be held at All Faith Cemetery in Casselberry, Florida on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
