BRADENTON – Got some empty space on a bookshelf just crying out for some books?
The Friends of the South Manatee Library are holding their annual Fall Book Sale today and Saturday at the South Manatee Branch Library in Bradenton.
There will be 2,000 books for sale, according to Marian Thomas, a member of the Friends..There will also be a raffle with 17 items.
Ticket prices for the raffle are 50 cents, and five for $2. Hardback books are $1, softback books are 50 cents, and paperback books are 25 cents. Also, there will be audio books for 50 cents with the cover, 25 cents without. There's also a picture of sandhill cranes that will be at the raffle table, Thomas said.
There are also some coffee-table books priced as marked, she said.
The group is a support organization for the library system. Money raised by its fundraisers like the sale go toward projects and services that tax dollars cannot provide.
