State College of Florida to Host HAPS Conference Saturday

BRADENTON--State College of Florida will host the 2011 Human Anatomy & Physiology Society (HAPS) Southeastern Regional Conference 8:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Saturday, January 22 at SCF's Lakewood Ranch Campus, 7131 Professional Pkwy. East.

The conference features keynote speeches ”Stem Cell Therapy for Stroke: Lost in Translation“ by Dr. Cesar Borlongan, associate director of University of South Florida Center of Excellence for Aging and Brain Repair and ”Novel Therapeutic Approaches for Alzheimer’s and other Neurological Disorders“ by Dr. Fiona Crawford, associate director of Roskam Institute. Other sessions include ways to improve teaching through online tools, medical simulation and histopathy.

The Human Anatomy and Physiology Society (HAPS) includes more than 1,600 members from high schools, two-and four-year colleges, universities, and private businesses in the United States, Canada and throughout the world.


The cost to attend the conference is $75 for members, $90 for non-members and $35 for students.
