BRADENTON — Among the projects receiving funding in the Florida Legislature's Special Session are several that involve Manatee County entities. Goodwill, Mote, Manatee Glens, Port Manatee, IMG, the South Florida Museum, the City of Bradenton and the City of Palmetto all received approval for dedicated or general funding.
Manasota Goodwill: $600,000 to fund an employee training program for the developmentally disabled
City of Bradenton: $500,000 for a tournament sports facility that will be a join venture with the Pittsburgh Pirates
The Boys and Girls Club of Manatee County: $500,000
Manatee Glens: $300,000 in funding for a Graduate Medical Education residency program for psychiatry
Port Manatee: $300,000 for security
City of Palmetto: $250,000 for a girls softball field project
South Florida Museum: $250,000 for its Backyard Universe project
IMG Academy: $50,000
