BRADENTON -- The Marauders came back strong against the Manatees last night at McKechnie, taking a 6-3 victory in the second of a 4-game home stand. CF Sterling Marte is continuing to tear up the field since coming off the DL, showing no sign of rust.
Marte went 3 for 4 to lead the Marauders offense, while Tim Alderson finally got a win since being sent down. Shelby Ford’s two-run single in the bottom of the 4th put Bradenton up 3-0, but Brevard ultimately tied it up, before Quincy Latimore singled in Marte in the bottom of the 7th to put them up for good.
The two teams lock up again tomorrow night for Bands and Baseball featuring Democracy, beginning at 5:30 at McKechnie, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
