SARASOTA – The 4th Annual Suncoast Blues Festival returns to the Sarasota Fairgrounds on Saturday, March 3. The all-day event features an impressive lineup of national acts, led by headliners the Monster Mike Welch/Mike Ledbetter Connection.
Both Welch and Ledbetter are renowned veterans of the genre, and their blues super group's groundbreaking album,Right Place, Right Time(clickherefor video) has just been nominated for seven Blues Music Awards.
Other acts scheduled to perform include "the Georgia Songbird" EG Kight, legendary Chicago blues guitarist Lurrie Bell, whose latest album, Can’t Shake This Feeling, was nominated for a Grammy and won the 2017 BMA for Best Traditional Blues Album of the Year; Detroit’s "Queen of the Blues" Thornetta Davis, James Armstrong, and Texas blues guitarist Andrew "Jr. Boy" Jones.
Gates open at 10 a.m. The music is set to begin at 11, with each act performing for about an hour. The headliners are set to take the stage at 5:15 p.m. Tickets are $30 in advance, $45 at the gate.
