Tampa Bay Rays, BPD Team Up to Give Ticket Vouchers for Community-Involved Citizens

Posted
BRADENTON– The Bradenton Police Department is teaming up with the Tampa Bay Rays to hand out ticket vouchers to a Ray’s baseball game of their choice. Dubbed Bradenton’s Baseball Buddies, these specially identified vouchers are good for four (4) seats to a home baseball game good for the rest of the 2016 season at Tropicana Field.

The Bradenton Police Department is scouting for adult team players who make a difference in the Bradenton community by serving in some form of volunteer capacity involving our youth. We are also looking for boys and girls who step up to the plate by exhibiting good behavior as they participate in a variety of summer youth camps across the City.

BPD officers are especially hoping to reward kids who might otherwise not be able to afford a trip to see a Major League ballgame to enjoy America’s Favorite Pastime.

In return, Bradenton Police Officers are simply seeking a few minutes of facetime with the youth to perpetuate a positive interaction opportunity. Remember, Tropicana Field is only 25 minutes away from downtown Bradenton. This is a great way for the Bradenton Police Department to connect with our City residents.

The Tampa Bay Rays graciously donated one-thousand vouchers to the Bradenton Police Department.

Bradenton Officers will now be looking throughout the City for these Most Valuable Players who want to make the City of Bradenton a better place to live, work, visit, and conduct business. Bradenton Police Officers are confident that we have hit a Home Run with this program and that we will be able to hand out all of the Bradenton Baseball Buddies ticket vouchers to our community All-Star members.

Bradenton Mayor Wayne Poston and Police Chief Melanie Bevan handed out vouchers on June 16, 2016 at the Visible Men’s Academy located at 921 63rd Ave E, in an effort to reward children and faculty for their hard work and citizenship throughout the school year.

Please call the Bradenton Police Department at 941-932- 9300 and tell us your story. We will also deliver the vouchers to you.
