Posted
TAMPA – Possessing small amounts of marijuana has been decriminalized in the largest city in the Tampa Bay area, following a vote by the Tampa City Council to do so.

The move follows decriminalization policies created by the counties of Palm Beach and Miami-Dade.

Tampa's new law means a progressive fine escalation of $75, $250, $300 and $450 with each incident of getting caught with either the drug or used paraphernalia on one's person.

According to FOX 13, Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn plans to sign the ordinance into law.
