Posted

BRADENTON – On May 10, 2012, MCSO Deputy Chad Richards responded to a shooting with injury. When he arrived on the scene, he observed the victim with a gunshot wound to the neck and bleeding profusely. Even though the victim was fighting, Deputy Richards took a towel and was able to hold it in place and apply pressure to slow the bleeding and also call EMS via radio. After arrival of EMS, Deputy Richards resumed the tasks of securing the scene, separating and interviewing witnesses and providing information on the suspect.

For his abilities to respond quickly and multi-task under these stressful circumstances, Deputy Chad Richards is awarded Deputy of the Month for June 2012.

On April 23, 2012, Special Investigations detectives requested assistance to dig out a ditch to look for narcotics. Dale Hancock was summoned to load a backhoe onto a trailer and respond to the scene in Oneco. Despite being the end of the shift and without any questions, he loaded the equipment and went to the scene. The detectives provided instructions on where to dig and how deep, and within minutes Dale dug up a packet of heroin with an estimated street value of $35,000.

For his work that made a significant contribution to this investigation, Dale Hancock is awarded Employee of the Month for June 2012.

Congratulations!
