The Manatee Coalition for responsible government (MCRG) was formed earlier this year by a group of Manatee County citizens to identify and help elect candidates to the Manatee Board of County Commissioners who would be more responsive to its citizens and to their neighborhood issues than to the special interests in the development community that have dominated Board decisions and politics for several years.
The MCRG earlier endorsed Michael Gallen who will be the District #2 Commissioner by beating Gwen Brown, a 16 year ”special interest-financed“ incumbent candidate in the August Primary election. The MCRG also endorsed Norm Luppino in District #4. He was defeated by Robin DiSabatino in the August primary. While she was heavily financed by developers and related business interests, and spent SEVEN TIMES more money on her campaign than Luppino, she won by only 162 votes.
The MCRG is endorsing Roger Galle for District #4 Commissioner in the November 2 election. Roger’s opponent has taken substantial contributions from developer and related business interests. In contrast Roger is committed to act on behalf of the citizens of Manatee County and has declared that ”DISTRICT 4 IS NOT FOR SALE.“
In the District #6 at-large race, the MCRG is endorsing Sundae Knight. Sundae is running against an entrenched incumbent heavily financed by developer funds. Sundae's professional experience as an engineer and problem-solver across a wide range of issues would be of considerable benefit to the citizens of Manatee County. She is committed to "SOLUTIONS BASED ON FACTS, NOT POLITICS."
We support these candidates for the Manatee Board of County Commissioners because they will be responsive to resident concerns and needs and not special interests. The MCRG encourages you to support these candidates, including campaign contributions and other assistance in their campaigns.
November Endorsements

District #6 – At Large - Sundae Knight, Democrat
