Three Opening Receptions at ArtCenter on Thursday Night

Busy night Thursday at ArtCenter Manatee, 209 9th St. W., with three opening receptions –the ACM Student Show, Our Faces: Portraits by Dirce Kennedy and Creative Arts Association & Friends. All three take place from 5-7 p.m.

The exhibits are on display tonight through May 27.

The ACM Student Show in the Reid Hodges Gallery highlights the work of ArtCenter students and only work done at ArtCenter within the last year is accepted.

Our Faces: Portraits by Dirce Kennedy, who combines her love of the social sciences, nature, people and their pets in her portraiture. She works to penetrate the many layers of her subjects to capture their inner beauty and spirit. Whether she uses oils, acrylics or watercolor, the blank canvases come alive with her strokes. Her work will be dis?played in the Kellogg Gallery.

The Creative Arts Association of Lakewood Ranch & Friends will pre?sent a selection of work from pottery and jewelry to stained glass in the Searle Gallery. The group is committed to inspiring visual artists by supporting their passion for their art.
