Trump Wins Big in New Hampshire

Posted
NEW HAMPSHIRE – Donald Trump easily won the New Hampshire Republican Party on Tuesday night, winning a landslide victory with more than 34 percent of the vote after finishing a somewhat surprising second in the Iowa Caucus.

Trump finished 18 points ahead of John Kasich, though the Ohio Governor's second-place finish was something of an upset, surging past Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who had been way ahead in the polls.

Cruz slipped to a deep third with 11.5 percent, while Jeb Bush pushed into 4th, ahead of Rubio, who, despite being positioned as the possible "establishment alternative" to Trump and Cruz after finishing third in Iowa with 20 percent, slipped to a distant fifth, following a weak debate performance on Saturday.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie finished sixth, while one-time contender Ben Carson fell off the radar with only 2.3 percent of the vote, finishing behind even fringe candidate Carly Fiorina.

On Saturday, Feb. 20, Republican voters in Nevada will caucus, while South Carolina Republicans hold a primary.
