Trump Wins Indiana; Nomination Looks to be Inevitable

Posted
INDIANA – Republican front-runner Donald Trump won a landslide victory in Indiana on Tuesday, getting more than 53 percent of the vote in the three-way race. The win makes it nearly certain that Trump will achieve the magic number of 1,237 before the GOP's convention in Cleveland this August, avoiding a contested election.

His chief competitor, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, suspended his campaign after a dismal performance in which he got only 37 percent despite pulling out all stops to make a last stand in the state. Ohio Governor John Kasich vowed to stay in the race, despite getting only 7 percent of the vote and failing to win a single contest outside of his home state of Ohio.
