BRADENTON--The Lakewood Ranch Mustangs overcame a ten point deficit to defeat the Braden River Pirates 62-45 Wednesday night in the semi-final game of the Smoothie King Basketball Classic at Bradenton Christian High School’s gym. The Mustangs will play in Thursday night’s championship game set for an 8:00 p.m. tip-off.

Braden River opened the game with a strong first quarter continuing the momentum of Tuesday’s opening round win over Palmetto. The Pirates lead 17-7 after the first eight minutes.

Lakewood Ranch (8-4) settled down and outscored Braden River 18-10 in the second quarter to go into halftime trailing by two, 27-25.
