We The Kings are putting Bradenton on the map with their pop-rock tunes ruling the charts. Proud of their beginnings in Bradenton, Fla., this band sure knows how to represent! Their name even originated from King Middle School, which the boys attended when they first started playing music together.
"Young and energetic" are words that not only describe the four band members, but can also be applied to their music. Travis Clark is lead vocals and guitar, Hunter Thomsen is guitar and backing vocals, Drew Thomsen plays the bass and Danny Duncan is on the drums.
Their first single, ”Heaven Can Wait“ is playing nationwide on Billboard Singles Chart and is currently in the Top 10 on the Alternative Singles chart. The song is also the band’s third Top 40 charting single. The group just released their newest album, ”Smile Kid“ with S-Curve Records.
Touring all over the United States and Australia on their Friday is Forever tour, the band will be back in their home state this Thursday -- rocking out in St. Petersburg. Locals have the chance to hear four kids, who went from being just another band in Bradenton to becoming a nationally-known act with their music playing on the CW, MTV, Rockband and many other networks.
All of the band members will be at Best Buy for a CD signing and acoustic show on Thursday July 21 at 2:30 p.m. in St. Petersburg. Their live performance, with all instruments plugged in, will start at 6 p.m. at
State Theatre, a music venue located in downtown St. Petersburg, with opening acts from The Summer Set, The Downtown Fiction, Hot Chelle Rae and Action Item.
Last year We The Kings were awarded the key to the city of Bradenton. Clark is said to be wearing the key proudly around his neck, keeping home close to his heart, and essentially, close to the heart of the band.
