But get there between 3 and 6 p.m. to order from the value beach menu, which offers 12 signature BeachHouse items for $10.99 or less, including salads, sandwiches, pastas, shrimp, chicken and steak dishes.
Michael Shannon’s a manager at the restaurant and offers two reasons to come out and play at The BeachHouse – the great-priced meals and drinks.
”The most popular dish is the coconut shrimp,“ he said. ”And don’t forget our world-famous pina colada.“
Today, Jimmy Buffett-style music will be playing out on the beach deck, too.
So, why should folks choose The BeachHouse?
”Well, because of the same reason they should come every night,“ Shannon said. ”We are located on the Gulf of Mexico and it’s the best place to enjoy the beach and sunset. There’s not a better place to watch the sun go down.“

Calling all ladies of all ages – Saturday starting at 10 a.m. is the second annual Bridal Boutique Sale at Elaine’s Bridal Boutique off University Parkway, west of I-75 in the Kohl's and Fresh Market shopping center.
Theresa Parker’s a bridal consultant at the store. She says the dresses will range from $100 to $300 for a wide selection of bridesmaid and mother-of-the-bride dresses.
”We have a great arrangement and variety of dresses at a very low price,“ she said.
The store said in a press release that if you haven’t purchased your wedding gown or if you know someone who hasn’t bought their wedding gown, Saturday is the day to get rock-bottom prices on top-manufacturer wedding gowns.
Some of the manufacturers are Jasmine, James Clifford, Alfred Sung, Maggie Sottero and Sottero Midgley, and sized from 6 to 16.
Dresses are like pens, you can never have enough.
Then, if you hear the portentous theme music to ”Jaws“ sounding from Mote Marine on Saturday, for once don’t clear the water. It’s just the arrival of San-ta Jaws swimming into Mote.
San-ta Jaws, also known as ”Gilly“ the Shark at Mote, will be around for photos and a meet and fin from noon to 2 p.m. starting this Saturday and each Saturday through Dec. 19 at the Mote Aquarium courtyard. Photo ops with San-ta Jaws are free with your paid admission.

It may not be this weekend, but make a date to donate toys and gifts to local abused and neglected children and teens through the collaborative efforts of Manatee Players and Manatee Children’s Services.
Manatee Children’s Services is one of Manatee County’s oldest youth services organizations. It offers youth and family counseling, and operates a home for abused and neglected children.
Denny Miller manages the marketing for Manatee Players and says that through the donations, the two groups strive to make Christmas merrier for deserving children and teens.
New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at the Manatee Players, 102 Old Main St. in downtown Bradenton. Gift items for teenagers are especially needed. Also needed are wrapping paper, tape and bows.
