BRADENTON – It's the lazy weekend following the 4th, but that doesn't mean you have to be a couch potato. After an abnormally dry start, summer is back to its usual routine, meaning there are lots of cool breezes following the mid-day showers. Get out and enjoy some baseball, or check out the other kind of bats at Emerson Point. Plus, the annual De Soto Fishing tournament runs all weekend long. It's time for a Weekend Adventure in Bradenton!

Prepare to get a little batty on your weekend adventure, and joint naturalist Adean and his bat detector as he hikes, searching for the bats. The hike will be challenging, as participents will attempt survival in a bat's world, learning how they hunt and how they find their partner by his or her scent.

Not into those kinds of bats? Well, the boys of summer are back in town, so be sure to watch some swinging bats at the Marauders game, since they'll be hosting the Lakeland Tigers at McKechnie all weekend.
The action gets started at 7 p.m. on Friday and rolls through Sunday. Friday is also Latin heritage night. There will be free samplings of food from Latin restaurants and $1 from each ticket goes to benefit the Latin Chamber Foundation. There will also be a Marauders shot glass giveaway.
