SARASOTA--What’s going on at WSRQ radio in Sarasota? After just three weeks, station management pulled ”Drive Time with Ozzie and the Professor“ and replaced it with the ”Dennis Miller Show“ replay which had been running in the 4 to 6 p.m. slot.

Inside sources tell me that one of the station owners thought the show was going to be more political in nature and didn’t like all the sports talk. Hard to figure how an owner didn’t get that impression after the first show with sports talkers Ozzie the Sports Junkie and Scott Hayes. Didn’t management and hosts agree on a format prior to the show’s debut three weeks ago?

This is the third time Hayes, aka ”The Professor“ has had a show yanked unexpectedly from WSRQ 1220 AM. Ozzie ”The  Sports Junkie“ recently came over from doing a sports show at Sarasota talker WTMY 1280 AM.

WSRQ has a history of changing programming as often as one changes underwear. Does management over there understand that consistency is what builds listenership?

Ozzie the Sports Junkie is planning an online sports show. No word on Hayes plans.
