Waleri "Larry" Wedrow of Bradenton, Florida, passed away peacefully in his home on July 22, 2022, after prolonged illness.

He rejoins his beloved wife, Margaret "Teddie" Wedrow and is also predeceased by his father, Ivan Wedrow. He is survived by his daughter, Gabrielle Parent (Bryan) of Bradenton, son, Michael Grigor of Madison, CT, daughter, Susan Trischitti (John) of Naples, Fl., his mother, Tatiana Hrabar of Bradenton and grandchildren Jadelynn Ye, Jonathan Ye, William Kowaleski Jr., Sarah Lorusso (Donald), Kristifer Kowaleski (Tara) and Magnus Grigor as well as great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Camden Kowaleski.

Larry was born April 17, 1946, in Regensburg, Germany and emigrated to the United States in 1950 with his mother, Tatiana and father, Ivan. Larry attended Bassick High School in Bridgeport, CT where he was on the gymnastics team. Larry then volunteered service in the United States Marine Corps where he served honorably and proudly in Vietnam as an 88mm mortarman. After Vietnam, Larry returned home and worked for Avco Lycoming for a period of time until becoming a correctional officer with the CT Dept. Of Corrections where he retired as Captain after 21 years to move to Sunny Bradenton, Florida with his wife Teddie and daughter Gabrielle. Not one to sit around, he decided to go back to work and managed Coquina Beach concession stand for 14 years. Larry was a Post Commander at American Legion Kirby Pelot Stewart Post 24 and an active member and staunch supporter of the Marine Corps League DeSoto Detachment 588 where he could be found most days having his "2" glasses of wine and sharing stories with fellow Marines.

Throughout his life, Larry was known to volunteer his time for various charities and veterans organizations. He loved his cat, Treetop, who passed one year ago and will be interred with him.

Visitation will be Monday, August 1, 2022, from 1700-1900 ( 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.) at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory, 43rd Street Chapel 604 43rd Street West Bradenton, FL 34209, All friends welcomed.

Military honors and burial will be Tuesday, Aug 2, 2022, at 1230 at Sarasota National Memorial Cemetery. All friends welcomed.
