Birdrock Taco Shack

Passerineis coming to the Birdrock Taco Shack this Friday evening! The band’s distinctive sound combines the crisp rhythms of acoustic guitar, the haunting voices of the fiddle and dobro (resonator slide guitar), and the resonant lows of an acoustic bass with inventive vocal harmonies and songwriting. Supported by the sounds of acoustic strings, Passerine offers a fresh take on traditional folk and bluegrass music, as well as a repertoire of original songs that range from sweet ballads to the edgier side of contemporary Americana. Located in Bradenton Florida's Village of the Arts, Birdrock Taco Shack is not your average taco joint, but a unique funky-fun taco spot and live music venue. Motorworks Brewing

Performing a catalog of songs from the full spectrum of genres and generations, a first-timer to a 22N show will no doubt be entertained simply by the transitions from one well-performed cover song to the unexpected next. From pop, country, rock, metal, disco, and Top 40, if you’ve heard it on the radio, they probably cover it. The high-energy five-piece clearly knows the worth of engaging the audience, evidenced by a packed dance floor and even a boisterous sing-a-long or two. Fronted by lead singer Kristen Lee, 22N utilizes backdrop screens and lighting effects to produce a concert-esque show whatever the venue–a beer garden, bar and restaurant, or club. Some artists covered include Bruno Mars, Pink, Adele, AC/DC, The Cult, Beastie Boys, Journey, Tom Petty, Maroon 5, Motley Crew, Prince, Def Leppard, Queen, Cranberries, and so, so many more! About the Venue:
Since its opening in 2014, Motorworks Brewing has become one of the most awarded breweries in Florida, with over 22 national and international medals. With 20+ beers on draught, a full liquor bar, wine, and a rotating batch of seasonal and specialty brews available, Motorworks is a great place to join friends for a fresh pint of beer or a cocktail. Dead Set Florida
Big Top Brewing Company

Dead Set Florida is a Tampa Bay-based band performing music of the Grateful Dead and The Jerry Garcia Band, as well as solo material from Bob Weir and Phil Lesh. The group was founded in 2017 by bassist and vocalist Christian Walker. Walker is joined by Paul Wolff (lead guitarist), Tucker Waud (keyboardist), Michael Garrie (rhythm guitar and vocals), Mike Garrie (drums and vocals), and Michael Pandiscio (rhythm guitar and vocals). Pandiscio is the band’s newest member, joining during the 2020 pandemic. A year later, the five-piece is complete and continuing its mission to keep the legacy of "the greatest musical presence of the 20th century" jamming, spinning, and dancing. No cover.

This Friday, The Schmitz Brothers Band returns to the beer garden of 3 Keys Brewing. The Schmitz Brothers Band is a dynamic family band with skilled musicianship and memorable harmonies. Band members include father Dave Schmitz on guitar and vocals, twin sons Tim and Dave on guitar, bass and vocals, and long-time professional area percussionist, Phil Anderson, on drums. For more than a decade, The Schmitz Brothers Band has been performing for local audiences a catalog of classic rock and blues-based music along with reggae, jazz, bluegrass, and band originals. Kettle of Fish has been performing in clubs, pubs, and venues across Manatee and Sarasota, as well as across Florida and the U.S., for years. Lead singer, guitarist, and band founder Dana Lawrence is one of the area’s favorite singer-songwriters, performing original music. Kettle of Fish is a band with an ever-fluid rotation of talented local and guest musicians. If you like the sound of the Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Otis Redding, Robert Cray, the Neville Brothers, Buddy Guy, Stevie Wonder, the Allman Brothers, or The Grateful Dead, you will love Kettle of Fish.

About the Venue:
Located near downtown Sarasota at the foot of the John Ringling Causeway, Hart's is accessible by car or boat. Their rustic building is a piece of "Old Florida" amongst the downtown Sarasota condominium skyline. Set near the largest fishing pier in Sarasota County, the Saprito Fishing Pier, and nestled beside Eloise Werlin Park. Harts bait shop sells more than just bait, they offer light bites and snacks as well as beverages. There are plenty of benches, lawn space for your own chairs or blankets, and public restrooms available. 10th Annual Sarasota Cigar Box Festival

This Saturday, Big Top is hosting the 10th Annual Sarasota Cigar Box Festival beginning at 1:00 pm. The event will host a full day of live music featuring some of the best Cigar Box players around, includingJP Soars, Memphis Lightning, Steve Arvey, Stumpy Joe, John Mary Go Roundand more. There will be vendors, cigar box workshops and food trucks.

Dean Johanesen
Island Time Bar and Grill

Dean Johanesen is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from New York. He has resided and performed in several US states, but currently calls Sarasota home. Johanesen's passion for gypsy jazz music in the vein of Django Reinhardt has put him on a musical path focused on stories of old times, placed in a backdrop of gypsy swing, a style that he has coined "circus swing“. Throughout his career, Johanesen has shared bills with notable musicians such as Robby Krieger (formerly of the Doors), Donovan Frankenreiter, Martha Wainwright, Howard Jones, Steve Forbert, John Waite, and Peter Mulvey. No cover.

Island Time Bar and Grill is located on Anna Maria Island’s Bridge Street. Situated on the ground floor beneath the Bridge Street Bistro, Island Time Bar & Grill offers an open "no-walls" tropical indoor/outdoor beachside bar setting with welcoming gulf breezes. Born in Dallas and raised in Austin, Tyrone Vaughan is the son of Jimmie Vaughan and nephew of legendary blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan. Heavily influenced by many blues musicians, Tyrone has made a name for himself internationally. He is a 2019 Texas Blues Hall Of Fame inductee and a 2001 Grammy Award-winning writer on Best Blues Album by Jimmie Vaughan.

RJ Howson picked up his skillful guitar chops performing and sharing the stage with blues icons and fellow musicians at Buddy Guy’s Legends, Rosa's Lounge, Kingston Mines, BLUES on Halstead, and many other clubs in the Windy City as well as countless other venues across the Midwest.

Mike Kach, keyboardist to Dickey Betts & Great Southern, Kach's soulful vocals can be heard on Betts originals like No One Left to Run with It, Nobody Knows, and Southbound. Kach's own ballad, Get Away, appeared on the Dickey Betts & Great Southern's live CD/DVD set Rockpalast: 30 Years of Southern Rock.
