BRADENTON — St. Patrick’s Day is upon us and there are a multitude of great options for those looking to celebrate with live music. Shows are scheduled at several local venues, including downtown Bradenton’s Main Street Live which kicks off at 6 pm with music from the Honey Hounds. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Clover's Revenge at 3 Keys Brewing! Clover's Revenge brings a mix of two Irish musical traditions: acoustic pub music and Celtic punk rock. Utilizing simple instrumentation, the trio creates an explosive sound, with detailed harmonic lines, and complex rhythms. Steeped? – no, their Irish speed folk is pickled in the traditions of the Dubliners, Pogues, Silly Wizard, and Flogging Molly. The band insists upon high-speed, technical traditional tunes and punk rock badassery. Featuring Beau Wilberding's percussion on the Cajon drum, Zach Johnson on guitar and vocals, and John Barron on vocals, mandolin, and guitar. High energy, high fun. No cover.

Located in Bradenton off of east Manatee Avenue, 3 Keys Brewing is a family-friendly brewery with a full kitchen serving up gourmet-style pub fare. Prodigal Sons

In a special St. Patrick’s Day performance, the Prodigal Sons will perform with a full backing band from the Big Top outdoor stage on Friday! 

Prodigal Sons is a singer-songwriting duo born out of a shared love of music. Musicians Thomas McNulty and Dana Lawrence enjoy the nuance of harmonies and the exploration of how deep two acoustic instruments can go. Dana Lawrence is probably best known as the frontman and founder of popular local band, Kettle of Fish, a Sarasota band that has been performing for audiences across Florida and the southeastern United States for over 20 years. His passion for music is evident in his seemingly endless catalog of songs as it is in the diverse backgrounds of music heard in his originals. From rock to blues and from reggae to R&B, McNulty is a multi-instrumentalist who plays banjo, mandolin, and acoustic guitar, performing each instrument with equal aplomb and fierceness. His motto is, "I’ve never played a song I don’t know; I just haven’t played it yet." No cover. 

About the Venue
Big Top Brewing Company is a Sarasota-based production brewery. Valuing their great town and its great history, they set out to add in great local beer. A compliment to Sarasota’s historical associations with The Ringling Circus, performing arts, famous architecture, the best art and design schools, and world-renowned tourism, Big Top Brewing artistically crafts world-class beers, inspired by their hometown. Sycamore Shade is an acoustic ensemble known for its rich bluegrass harmonies and its living room performance style. The band showcases familiar old-time folk, Americana, and bluegrass standards as well as original compositions, playing a wide variety of music from bluegrass to contemporary music. Cover $5. 

About the Venue
Jiggs Landing Outpost is located inside the Manatee County Park Jiggs Landing. The outpost features a public boat ramp, fishing, cabin rentals, kayak and canoe rentals, bait shop, and small cafe—but they are also a live music venue! The outdoor venue is on the Evers Reservoir and Braden River with prime views of the sunset. Enjoy a beautiful natural venue in a historic area in the heart of East Manatee. Jack’D Up is a dance-party rock cover band performing hits from the '70s through today. Comprised of five musicians, including both female and male lead vocalists, the band has a unique edge playing songs from both male and female artists adding to the variety of their repertoire and sound. Jack'D Up received three Reader Choice Awards in 2021; Best Musical and Group Performers by Herald Tribune, AMI Reader’s Choice, and Herald Tribune Venice Reader’s Choice 1st Place. No cover.

Clancy's Irish Sports Pub is in Bradenton off Cortez Rd. Clancy’s is known for its bar-fare food, full liquor bar, live entertainment, and, most of all – fun! Their casual and relaxed atmosphere has been described as, "Irish Tavern meets Jimmy Buffet." The Boomers Band
Mattison’s Riverwalk Grille

On Saturday, The Boomers Band will perform at Mattison’s Riverwalk Grille. The Boomers is a rock band based in Bradenton that plays a wide range of songs from 1964 to 1969. Lead singer/rhythm guitarist Bob Cary, lead guitarist Ted Mork, keyboard player and saxophonist Bob Hepler, bass player Todd Bohlmann, and drummer Mike Kennedy play an energetic mix from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Steppenwolf, The Grass Roots, The Monkees and many more of the decade's iconic bands.  No cover.

Mattison's Riverwalk Grille is located along Bradenton's Riverwalk Park downtown. Mattison's and its staff pride themselves on their commitment to using sustainable practices and serving only foods that are hormone and antibiotic-free. They work with small family farms and source their produce and seafood locally. While their food draws a crowd, their live music gets them on their feet— the outdoor dining patio is spacious with plenty of room for dancing! 101 Riverfront Blvd, Bradenton.

Band members Ron Kraemer on the electric guitar and vocals, Gregg Germony on the upright bass, and Michael Finley on da' brushes come together in a trio that jumps and swings. They're a swingin’ jazzy blues band that brings cool jams and a good time. No Cover.

Located in Payne Park, downtown Sarasota, Cafe in the Park captures the spirit of a quintessential urban cafe terrace. It's the perfect place for a great coffee, a fresh sandwich, and live music. The family-friendly spot has menu selections of healthy café-style food, non-alcoholic beverages, beer, and wine, all served in a community park setting. Truly a great place to catch a live show. Sinewaves is a southwest Florida rock band comprised of multi-instrumental musicians and friends. The band’s setlists include renditions of popular songs from multiple genres including rock, blues, funk, soul, country, and more. Through their reworked interpretations of yesterday's classics and today's hits, plus soulful vocals, Sinewaves is on a mission to deliver listeners "sonic nostalgia" and party vibes to keep the dance floor moving all set long. Founded in 2001, Gilligan’s Island Bar prides itself on serving quality food, cocktails, and great service. The venue hosts live music on its front deck, and offers back patio seating, a tiki bar, and a fire pit for cooler nights. Join James Varnado as he hosts Cottonmouth’s Sunday "Jazz and Blues Open Jam”. Born in New Orleans, James Varnado relocated to Florida’s Gulf Coast in 2006. The locally known and respected drummer has years of performances under his belt. Varnado has performed and toured with the likes of George Porter Jr (The Meters), Charmaine Neville (Neville Bros Family), Tab Benoit, Mem Shannon Blues Band, Jon Cleary, Dickey Betts (of the Allman Brothers), The Dixie Cups (Doo Wop), and has shared the stage with various local bands.
  
The Sunday jam offers audiences something a bit more like a variety show, leading the jam with opening songs, and welcoming a rotation of other talented local guest musicians to join the stage. A jam session guaranteed to bring sound surprises you won’t hear anywhere else. No cover.

Located in Bradenton Village of the Arts, Cottonmouth Southern Soul Kitchen has quickly become one of Bradenton, Florida’s more popular outdoor music venues. Music is hosted on their intimate patio garden, a perfect setting under the branches of towering live oaks in the heart of VOTA. Known for his eclectic southern dining, Chef Dave Shiplett puts his creative spin on southern classics serving up his brand of southern soul food in this 100-year-old cottage that doubles as an art gallery. The venue offers craft beer, wine, a list of creative hard ciders, and non-alcoholic beverages. Reservations are recommended due to limited capacity. 1114 12th Street West, Bradenton.
