BRADENTON – Incumbent Republican Will Robinson is running for a second term as Florida State Representative for District 71. Robinson bills himself as a common-sense fiscal conservative who understands the importance of balancing budgets, keeping taxes low, and ensuring that Florida is able to compete in today’s global economy.

Robinson, 44, was born in Bradenton, and his family has deep roots in Manatee County. He is a partner with the Blalock Walters law firm, serves on the Manatee Chamber Board of Directors, and formerly served as the Chair of Meals on Wheels Plus of Manatee.

Robinson is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and received his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law. He is a member of the Leadership Manatee Alumni Association and was awarded the Kent C. Schulz Distinguished Leadership Award in 2018.

An avid runner, Robinson has completed two Boston Marathons and two Ironman races. He currently serves on the House Agriculture & Natural Resources Subcommittee as well as its Commerce Committee and was appointed to the Select Committee on the Integrity of Research Institutions.

Robinson is being challenged by local environmental activist Andy Mele in the general election. He brings a significant campaign fundraising advantage to the race, having reported over $126,000 in donations to his opponent's $10,900.
