BRADENTON -- Ed Brodsky, the Chief Deputy to State Attorney Earl Moreland in the 12th District, will replace his retiring boss after beating back a challenge from first-time candidate John Torraco. Despite an unanswered controversy in which his office illegally used a state database to pull Torraco's record multiple times, Brodsky still managed to win 57-43.
Brodsky's strong financial support was a factor in both the primary and general election. Having raised over $171,000 to Torraco's $45,690, Brodsky's campaign finance reports were a who's who of area political powerhouses.
