MANATEE COUNTY – Hurricane Ian interfered with the annual Suncoast Reef & Beach Cleanup, but the event has been rescheduled and will be held this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, November 14 and 15 at the Bradenton Yacht Club.
Volunteers can win cash and prizes (valued at over $5,000!) for collecting trash from our reefs and shoreline.
2021 was a huge year for picking up trash and the totals came in at a whopping 21,000+ lbs and 140 trash-picking volunteers.
Agenda:
Saturday: 8-10 AM: FREE Breakfast. Registration, pick up T-shirts, trash bags, and other supplies. Divers, fishermen, waders, and land-lubbers to collect trash. Weigh-in is open from 2-5 pm. ALL debris will be weighed and recorded.
Weigh-in: Saturday 2:00 - 5:00 pm. You can weigh in the trash on either day or both days. Totals will be combined.
Sunday: Weigh-in 1-3 pm. Must be checked in by 3 pm to be eligible for CASH prizes. Parking Lot vendors, BYC Food, and drinks will be available for purchase. Cash awards and prize table drawings will be held after all trash is weighed.
You can win cash and other great prizes just for bringing that trash to the Yacht Club. Over $5,000 in cash will be handed out and there are many other great prizes just for participating. Awards and prize drawings will be held immediately after the "weigh-in" on Sunday.

Each category has a cash payout for the top three places
1st Place: $500
2nd Place: $250
3rd Place: $100
In addition, $300 will be paid for the most unique item brought in from: Land, Sea, Most Tires
This is a great event for individuals, clubs, and organizations to receive community service hours. Trash pickers of all ages are welcome.
If you do not register online in advance here you are NOT guaranteed a shirt.
