The Elizabeth Moore Sarasota Open ATP Challenger professional tennis tournament will now be staged at IMG Academy in Bradenton from April 5-12.
Last year, the popular event was held in South Sarasota at the Sarasota Sports Club; however, new ownership at that club made changes to the venue, disrupting the ability to adequately stage the tournament. After months of searching for a new site, IMG Academy has been selected.
"Jimmy Arias (IMG's director of tennis) really rolled out the red carpet for the Sarasota Open 2026," said tournament co-owner and lead sponsor Elizabeth Moore. The deal was reached late last week.
The gigantic academy in central Bradenton will be the third different location in three years - in 2024 and 2023, the tournament was contested at Payne Park in downtown Sarasota.
Last year's Sarasota Open champion was Emilio Nava of California. Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis won the title in 2024, and Daniel Elahi Galan of Colombia won the winner's trophy in 2023. Other notable tennis pros who have competed in the Sarasota Open include Nick Kyrgios, Kei Nishikori, James Blake, Tennys Sandgren, Reilly Opelka, Tommy Paul, Stefan Kozlov, Alexander Zvere,v and Sebastian Korda.
