51st Street West will be closed at Cortez Road from April 12 through May 7

According to the map provided by Manatee County (below) the problem spots are on 51st Street where it crosses Cortez Road, so you can't turn from Cortez onto 51st St. in either direction, nor can you drive straight on 51st Street where it crosses Cortez.

Mark Fransen of Manatee County Public Works assures us that traffic on Cortez Road will not be affected in either direction. It's only 51st Street W. we need to avoid.
