Bradenton, Florida - On December 16, 2023, Aileen "Bunny" Barry passed away peacefully at 89 and joined her beloved parents, Rosemary and Edward Weekin in heaven.
Aileen is survived by her children, Karen (Keith) Conforti, Robert (Trina) Barry; grandchildren, Caroline Conforti, Nicholas Barry, and Matthew Conforti; and her much-loved, twin sister, Jeanine "Boots" (Ernest) Sperduto.
Aileen was born on May 29, 1934, in Newark, New Jersey, and spent 52 years in the Garden State before moving to Bradenton, Florida, in 1986. Aileen was a voracious reader and enjoyed playing cards and mahjong. She loved the beach, golf, and bowling and in her later years derived pleasure from volunteering at the Manatee Memorial Foundation Thrift Shop. Aileen was a devout Catholic and delighted in attending mass with her grandson, Nicholas. While her children were young, Aileen was a stay-at-home mother, but she also worked for years in New Jersey at the Prudential Insurance Company and in Florida at Burdines and Dillards.
Aileen was kind, calm, and wise. She was always there for her children and grandchildren. To Karen and Robert, she will always be the best mother in the world.
Robert, Karen, and their families were blessed to have Aileen live with them in the final years of her life. Her grandchildren each shared a special bond with her and will forever cherish her wise granny-isms. Karen and Robert will miss their mother and best friend for the rest of their lives.
Aileen's service will be at Our Lady Of the Angels Catholic Church in Lakewood Ranch on January 6, 2024, at 10:15 AM. Burial to follow immediately after at Skyway Memorial Gardens in Palmetto, Florida.
