Albert Paul Baudrit, known affectionately as Al by his friends and family, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, at the age of 89, in Bradenton, Florida. Born on May 12, 1935, in Saujon, France, Al brought his spirit of resilience and joy across the ocean to touch the lives of everyone he met.
Al's journey began in the quaint town of Saujon, where he spent his formative years before becoming a proud trade school graduate. His skills as a self-employed contractor and carpenter were not only his livelihood but also his passion. Al's hands crafted more than just structures; they built a legacy of dedication and excellence that stood as firmly as the homes and buildings he constructed.
Beyond his professional life, Al was a formidable presence in the world of martial arts, achieving the esteemed rank of a 6th level black belt in Karate. This discipline reflected his personal ethos, as he approached life with the same focus and commitment that he dedicated to his sport.
Al's love for life extended to his hobbies as well. He could often be found with a fishing rod in hand, patiently waiting for the next big catch, or cheering on his favorite football team with the same fervor he showed in every aspect of his life. His competitive spirit shone brightly during family gatherings, where he was the undisputed corn hole champion, always playing with a loving grin and a twinkle in his eye.
Above all, Al was a family man. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy, and their children, Chris, Cathy, Brian, and Mimi. His role as a grandfather to David, Craig, Gabi, Aiden, Lexi, CJ, and Ben was one he cherished deeply. Al's legacy lives on through them, as they carry forward his values of love, courage, and the importance of being handy in both life and work.
Those who knew Al would describe him as the epitome of loving, handy, and courageous. His presence was a source of strength and comfort, much like the homes he built, offering shelter and warmth to all who were lucky enough to be a part of his life.
As we remember Albert Paul Baudrit, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey well-traveled, and a man well-loved. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us, as we hold him close in our hearts, now and always.
