Alfred Swinson

Alfred Swinson passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024, with his wife of 61 years by his side.

Al (as he preferred to be called) was born on November 21, 1937 in Coolidge, Georgia. He served three years in the Army and eventually settled in Bradenton, Florida, where he met and fell in love with Linda Jean Harris. They married on May 3, 1963, and would go on to have two daughters.

Al was a member of Samoset First Baptist Church for over thirty years, where he served as a Deacon. Al loved reading his Bible, daily devotionals, books that helped strengthen his faith in God, as well as Mysteries. He also enjoyed watching Westerns and solving Wordsearch, Sudoku and Fill-In puzzles. He also dearly loved the time he spent with his family.

In addition to his wife and daughters, Kimberly J. Barnes, of Willis, Texas and Lori A. Barr, of Parrish, Florida, Al leaves behind grandsons, Ryan M. Baldwin, Joshua G. Baldwin and Benjamin B. Barr; as well as twin great-grandchildren, Grayson and Avery Baldwin and countless nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at, Samoset First Baptist Church, 3200 15th St. E. Bradenton FL 34208, on Friday, December 13, 2024. Visitation begins at, 10:30 AM and the funeral will begin at, 11:00, with a Luncheon immediately following. in the Fellowship Hall. A graveside service will be held around 2:30 PM at Fortner Cemetery, 136th Ter. E. Parrish FL 34219.
