Allan Francis Proske, 88, of Bradenton, Florida, died Thursday, August 24th at home with his loving family by his side. He was born in New York City on November 8, 1934 and grew up in the Richmond Hill section of Queens. Allan was a son of the late John and Catherine Reddin Proske.
A graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School, Allan earned a bachelor's degree from Stevens Institute of Technology and master's degrees from Rutgers University and Columbia University. When he retired, he was the President of Earnings Performance Group.
Allan was an avid handyman who loved home projects and travelling abroad with his loving wife, Catherine. A giant in life, Allan's greatest joy was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is most remembered by his family and friends for his charismatic humor, quick wit and unfailing optimism.
He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Proske, son John and his wife Marjorie, son-in-law Conrad Bellavance, son Drew and his wife Stephanne, daughter Tricia, stepdaughter Jill Yusko and her husband Michael, 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife, Edith Samartan Proske, his daughter Judi, his brothers John, Paul and James and his sister Louise. Prior to moving to Florida, Allan was a longtime New Jersey resident, primarily residing on Druid Hill Road in Summit, New Jersey.
