American Red Cross Needs Volunteer Teachers and Speakers

 LAKEWOOD RANCH -- The Manatee County Chapter will be holding an orientation for those interested in conducting public speaking presentations or teaching Red Cross non-certification programs to adults and children.  

Topics vary and include, but are not limited to, disaster preparedness, proper hand washing procedures for children, caregiving for senior citizens living at home, water safety for children, pandemic flu prevention and bilingual presentations. 

The class will be on Tuesday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Lakewood Ranch office, at 10311 Malachite Drive, behind the YMCA. 

The cost is free and pre-registration is required.  A full volunteer orientation can be conducted afterward for people wishing to become volunteers.
