TAMPA — Tampa Theatre and Oxford Exchange will host country music legend Kenny Chesney on the Theatre’s historic stage at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, Nov. 11, to discuss his new book, Heart Life Music
Chesney went from outside the Knoxville city limits, playing sports and loving music, to being elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame. Rewriting and refocusing what a song could be, he fused rock, reggae, bluegrass, and a whole lot of positive energy to become a stadium-sized superstar who often kicks off his tours at Raymond James Stadium and is the only country act in “Billboard's Top 10 Touring Acts of the Last 25 Years” for the past fifteen years.
A songwriter, groundbreaker, visionary, and regular guy, Chesney will talk with award-winning music critic and collaborator Holly Gleason about the journey to get here, a Nashville that’s been forgotten, the thrill of meeting and befriending heroes, and why pretty normal people can do incredible things.
Tickets are $50 and will go on sale at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 26, at the historic Franklin Street Box Office or online at TampaTheatre.org ($1.00 service fee applies). Admission includes a pre-signed, hardcover copy of the book, and Oxford Exchange will be selling additional copies in the lobby. All books will be pre-signed.
