Bradenton, Florida - Born in Lowell, MA. 35-year resident of Bradenton, FL. Ann (Carol) passed away peacefully with family and friends by her side on Nov., 9, 2023. Carol graduated from Lowell High school and married her high school sweetheart in 1956. After raising her children, Carol graduated from nursing school in 1973 and spent 40 years working in the profession she loved. Carol worked at St. John's Hospital in Lowell, MA and Salem Hospital in Salem, MA. Carol and Ron moved to Florida in 1987 and Carol was hired at Blake Medical Center where she was named Nurse of the Year in 2000. That award was the highlight of her nursing career. Carol retired from nursing at age 77.

Carol loved music, she played piano and sang from the age of 8. There was always music in the house. She loved the ocean and going to the beach. Carol loved cooking, boating, and golfing. Her golf friends called her ACE. Carol shared many travel adventures with her husband, Ron. They travelled the Intercoastal waterway from Maine to Florida. They lived on their boat for 5 years before settling in Bradenton.

Carol was a loving wife and a proud mother and grandmother. Every year she looked forward to spending summer vacation at York Beach in Maine with her children and grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Kathleen and son-in-law, Michael Cocozella of Salem, MA; grandsons, Matthew Cocozella of Salem, MA and Christopher Cocozella of Fall River, MA; daughter Kimberley Roper, of Plaistow, NH; daughter, Gayle and son-in-law, Scott Miller of Cape Coral, FL; and granddaughters, Carly Miller of Haverhill, MA and Kate Miller and Andrew Barger of Kerhonkson, NY.

Carol is predeceased by her parents, Bernadette and Charles Donahue, her brother, Charles Donahue and her sisters, Bernadette Campbell, Marie Soucy and Celia Paul Fader. Carol is also predeceased by her husband, Ronald Roper and her son, Ronald Roper, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Carol can be made to Tidewell Hospice of Bradenton, FL.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
