On January 24, 2024, God called Anna Resch, 93 years old, to her eternal home. She was born on June 13, 1930 in Gyonk, Hungary to the late Andrew & Elizabeth (Wolf) Steitz.
At the age of 12, Anna and her family fled to Germany. On April 30, 1949, John & Anna joined in marriage and were married for 74 years. In 1955, John, Anna and their first born immigrated to Akron, OH. In 2022, John and Anna moved to Bradenton, Florida to be near family.
Anna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Resch, on August 1, 2023 and their son, John Resch, Jr. who passed away posthumously on January 29, 2024. Left to cherish her memories are her daughter Martha Drachenberg (Sieg); daughter Joanna Glenn; grandchildren David Drachenberg (Stephanie); Jeanette Drachenberg; Trevor Glenn; Connor Glenn; Miles Glenn; and great grandchildren Molly Flondro and Alli Flondro.
Primarily a homemaker, Anna poured her love on her children, and later the grandchildren. Her greatest joy was talking with her youngest sister in Florida, Margaret Wong.
She cleaned offices and homes particularly after her family was raised, and everyone loved her and her impeccable work quality. But hospitality was Anna's extraordinary gift. She often invited friends, pastors, and missionaries for wonderful meals and dessert.
She had a huge garden and several fruit trees, which produced a surplus she often shared with others. A major annual event was making a year's worth of sausage once the weather was right for hanging, then smoking the sausage. When her age and mobility limited her, she learned to enjoy nature, and especially liked sitting in the sun.
She was a loyal friend, and many have expressed how loving and giving Anna was to them. Anna had a deep love for her Lord, and often had a hymn on her mind or on her lips. She exemplified a godly life to those around her and her greatest desire was that all who knew her would follow Jesus.
